I made this bed back in the summer of 2009, but forgot about the videos. I wanted my son to have a elevated bed so he could play underneath it. I also wanted it to be built to last and be able to convert it to a bunk bed if needed later on. The cheapest thing I found was Ikea which would cost me 0. I made this one which is much better quality than Ikea for just over 0.

Triple bunk beds are a very useful space saving furniture for your kids. They are also vastly used in hostels and dormitories. They are made of strong steel rods for longevity. They are right for all of your siblings.

They save space giving them an extra area to play. Triple bunk beds are available in different patterns and sizes. Select one which suits your house. There are Triple lofts and Standard Triple Bunk Beds.

The typical bed is made of hard woods extracted from cherry trees, maple trees, oak trees or mahogany trees. They are very strong and solid to sustain the weight. It is surrounded well by guards to prevent your kids from falling when asleep. You can detach some into single individual beds.

The only difference is the top portion. It is made into two beds which form an L shape. Little space is left along with the lower bed to fit in the study tables etc. Most of the time that empty space acts as a storage area.

There are few guidelines when you go to purchase a triple bunk bed. What is your kid's age? If your child is in high school or going to college then an extra long or a large twin bunk bed will be ideal. Otherwise go for a standard bunk bed for your young child.

If your kid's room is not that spacious go for a standard one. You can also choose a loft designed triple bunk bed where you can fit in the study table and storage for your kids. Generally a loft design bed comes with attached study table.

Plan for your kid's future also. If you are planning to go for an extra large triple bunk bed, make sure you select one which can be detached. The reason being, when your kids are old enough and have their individual rooms, you can dismantle them and put them in their rooms.

There are different configurations for these types of beds so that you can choose the best one for your needs. For example, one type of configuration is called the L shape for obvious reasons, whereas another popular configuration is the one with a trundle which slides out when required. Or, you can just go for a straight triple which would be three beds stacked on top of each other with separate ladders for the middle and top bunks.

Have you finally graduated from building birdhouses and decided you want to learn how to make furniture? "What should I build" and "Where do I start" are usually two of the first questions that come to mind. DIY (Do it yourself) furniture can be about as simple or complex a woodworking job as you want it to be, so here are a few planning suggestions to point you in the right direction.

Decide what you want to build first.

If you're just beginning to learn how to make furniture, you should choose a project that is easy and practical. Building a picnic bench is a great first project as most people can use one, they get you accustomed to working with larger pieces, and are much more forgiving if you should make a mistake or three.

Bunk Beds are another excellent first project. So are platform beds.

Take time to choose your plans wisely.

Make sure the plans you choose offer enough detail to get you through the project. There is enough to deal with when learning how to make furniture than to suffer through trying to use inadequate plans. Make sure you have, or can borrow, the tools you need.

This goes hand in hand with choosing your woodworking plans. Many plans will give you an idea of the tools you need. Don't bother trying to build a table if it requires twenty-four bar clamps for glue up and you don't have access to them. Using the right tools for the job is how to make furniture the right way.

Make sure your tools are properly adjusted and blades are sharp.

If your table saw blade is out of adjustment by a degree or two, you'll learn how to make furniture the hard way! Bad adjustments will mean pieces don't line up. Dull blades will make rough cuts, cause splinters and increase blade tear out.

Measure carefully, cut even more carefully.

Assuming you have a good set of plans and the right tools, the rest falls under your individual skill level. Follow your plans step by step. Measure twice and cut once as the saying goes. Hey, I often measure three times, good wood isn't cheap!

Cutting carefully should go without saying. The results of carelessness can range from misfit pieces to missing fingers. Neither is good!

When in doubt, ask.

If you aren't a member of a woodworking forum or two, sign up now. Start reading, ask questions. If you get stuck in the middle of a project, get online and ask around. There are a ton of friendly people in the woodworking community that are eager to help and share their knowledge.
